I'm glad that ship-to-store at no charge is a option, because I was purchasing a sale item and did not want to spend almost as much in shipping as the item cost. It took a little longer, but not bad. The only reason I did not rate the experience "excellent" is that I had some difficulty pulling up the detail info (size measurement) on the item on the website.

rei customer service, and range of products, is as good as it gets in my experience. it can be a wee bit on the pricey side, but the returns policy gives me a very high degree of confidence buying from rei.

easy shopping, easy to order, good and fast service with very good products. since i live 1 1/2 to 2 hours from an rei it is usually easier to ship directly to my house unless i will be going by a store close to my order time.

I placed an order through their online store. After realizing I hadn't ordered all the parts I needed I called customer service the next day to cancel. My order confirmation said that I would receive an e-mail once the order shipped. When I called customer service to cancel the order, I was told the item was already shipped and that I would receive an e-mail over night. The next day I had not received a shipment e-mail, and my credit card had not been charged. I called customer service again to cancel the order and was told the order could not be cancelled, even though the item had not shipped yet. I was instructed to return the item to my local store once it arrived. I will not order anything from the REI online store again.

It is easy to shop on-line with REI. I have called customer support number from the web site. They were very helpful and very nice. The employees at REI Kennesaw, GA are also very nice and helpful. REI knows what customer service is all about. Thank you.

Very good, although the (overseas) shipping costs were a nasty shock and not at all aligned with the initial advice. IE initial estimate was $75, at order they came in at $230 or so. Perhaps something could be done to improve the accuracy of the initial estimate? Otherwise, excellent.

I enjoy shopping within REI stores, and I also enjoy purchasing from the REI web site. I found it extremely frustrating however when I discovered that duffels for back packs are not in the Travel Dept along side other duffels; instead, back pack duffels are merchandised within the back pack department. This counter-intuitive merchandising stumped the REI sales associates as well.

I've shopped at REI for many years and have always been very satisfied with their service. Just about the only gripe I have, is the website seems to be slow on my computer, even with the updated wireless connection that I have for access to the internet. The new site is faster than the old one, and very easy to navigate.
