The new EliteConnect 2.4GHz dual-radio 802.11g Wireless Bridge connects difficult-to-wire locations, branch offices, school or corporate campus environments, frequently changing workplaces, temporary LANs, hospitals and warehouses. The SMC2585W-G has three operational modes: Bridge Repeater - In this mode, both WLAN interfaces are configured as LAN-to-LAN bridge interfaces. AP Repeater, where one WLAN interface is configured as an AP interface, and the other are configured as a LAN-to-LAN bridge interface. Dual AP - In this mode, both WLAN interfaces are configured as AP interfaces. The dual AP can handle twice the number of wireless clients than a normal Access Point, this way it can be treated as two AP’s in a single unit. The Wireless Bridge supports advanced wireless security features including 128-bit key WEP encryption, 802.1x, Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA), disabled SSID broadcast, wireless client isolation, and MAC address filtering to block unauthorized wireless clients.
