One advantage of DVD-ROM technology is that DVD discs offer seven times the capacity of a CD-ROM! ??This Pioneer DVD-ROM drive reads data at a maximum rate of 6X for DVD-ROM, and at a maximum rate of 32X for CD-ROM. It offers an average DVD-ROM seek time of 100ms and access time of 120ms. For CD-ROM discs, its seek time is 80ms and its access time is 90ms. It reads both single and dual layer DVD discs. Plus, this drive uses slot-loading technology, features a chucking system for safer disc handling and enables either horizontal or vertical installation of the CD-ROM drive. The mechanism grips the disc by the edge without touching the data surface, and ejects the discs so that they can be removed by grasping the central hole. Minimize
