Paragon 2-user, 42-port offers the highest port-density currently available in a Cat5-based KVM switch, providing access to 42 devices in a 1U form factor. In addition to representing a stand-alone Cat5 solution for environments with 2 users, this high port-density also greatly increases the scalability of Paragon enterprise solutions. For example, a configuration giving eight users access to 512 servers using an 8-user, 32-port Paragon switch requires the maximum 3-tier configuration. However, by deploying a multi-base, two-tier configuration, adding just four UMT242 units as a base tier, eight users can access an additional 160 servers with a relatively modest incremental investment, and still have the ability to add a third tier to access up to 1,960 servers if growth dictates.
