The Prestige 642 series offers auto-sensing between Full-rate and G.Lite standards according to Central Office switch or DSLAM (Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplier), so a user can easily be upgraded from a G.Lite service to a Full-Rate service or vice versa without the cost of new ADSL modem or router. The Prestige 642 series also has ADSL over ISDN solution.??Incorporating ZyXEL's first-in-the-world PPPoE implementation, Prestige 642 series enables the users as well as the service providers to make use of the existing dial-up Internet infrastructure. It makes the Internet services charged by usage time that is similar to the dialup scenario. Users do not need to pay extra for PPPoE software while still enjoying the benefit of PPPoE. Minimize
