Active computer users and Internet explorers are increasingly using the mouse as primary input device. As a result of this extended "unnatural" or non-neutral posture many people are experiencing hand, wrist and shoulder problems. ??The clinically proven answer is the 3M Renaissance Mouse. The unique vertical grip keeps the hand and arm in a more neutral posture. This has been shown to reduce muscle load and the incidence of discomfort associated with disorders such as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and Repetitive Stress Injury. The Renaissance Mouse is available for PCs, Macs and iMacs in two sizes for optimal fit (small/medium and large). PC verisons offer a programmable third button which performs many actions including a scrolling feature. Minimize

Epinions The only no-pressure mouse

by  rebekb,  May 28, 2002
Pros: Superb design to reduce stress on wrist
Cons: No left handed version
The Bottom Line: I strongly recommend this product for anyone who is suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome or other hand/wrist problems.
Review: I have moderate to mild carpal tunnel syndrome (RSI) in both wrists. One problem with all mice and trackballs on the market is that none support the wrist in an orthopedically neutral position, that is, they all require you to "turn" the wrist downward...

Cons: You have to install the software to customize the buttons.
The Bottom Line: Repetitive movement afflicts millions of computer users, and the mouse is usually the perpetrator. This mouse is light-years ahead of standard mice, ergonomically speaking. Need I say more?
Review: I've tried trackballs. I've tried wrist-braces. I've tried software that "understands" voice commands. Nothing helped. Nowadays, though, I practically worship the Rm500gps Ergocomfort Renaissance Mouse. I have tendinitis in both wrists (among other...
