Love my Kermit!!!!

I received my ipod in March 2007 and have just been thrilled. I don't normally gravitate towards hype but when I saw this mp3 player for the first time I knew it was just for me. I had a friend at work who had gotten one of the very first ipods and even though they were sleek, I am a bit of a freak about fingerprints and smudges on my handheld devices. I didn't like the fact that you needed some sort of pocket or special holder to hold them and then out came this cute little powerhouse.
I have worn my shuffle while exercising, shopping, working, cleaning house, cooking and working in the yard. I have never had a bad experience with the clip coming loose or even seeming to be stretched out. It has not gotten scratched (although when working outside I clip it to my brastrap under my shirt).

It is very compact and the battery lasts a long time! I have not listened to it so long that the battery died so I am not sure how long it would last. I am thinking two hours is the longest I have used it at one time but I know it lasts longer than that. My husband loads it with songs for me...he has a nano and so he is always putting new music in the itunes folders and I just hand him mine to reload as well.

It has a continual play mode as well as a mode that will "shuffle" the songs you have on it to play them at random. The dial control is easy to use and I rarely look at mine to fast forward, turn on and off or to skip songs. It doesn't skip and doesn't really seem to be super fragile. I thought nothing about letting my little 9 year old brother borrow it when he was bored.

The next really cool thing was itunes. As soon as you sign on you get to name your ipod (hence my love of Kermit). It will default to yourname's ipod but you can rename it anything that you like. The search feature works really well and you can search by album, artist or song. You can also listen to a sample to make sure it is the version that you are looking for. I do wish the samples were a little longer, because if you are not really familiar with the song it may take you several listenings to make your decision to download. Itunes will also send you reminders if you have money to spend with them just sitting in the account so you don't forget (I like to go ahead and dump my giftcard money in and take my time picking out songs later).

The only thing I really did not like about this product was the earbuds that come with it. The ipod earbuds are really hard and were so big they would fall out of my ears if I tried to be active. I couldn't wear them more than thirty minutes at a time. I found some phillips earbuds with this really soft squishy part that goes into your ear and then I was able to wear it for long periods of time. And they no longer just fell out of my ears.
